Bouquets and buttonholes

Costs of your wedding flowers are usually dependent on

  • Variety of flowers used.
  • Whether the flowers are currently in season.
  • How labour intensive the design is.
  • The size of the arrangement.

The bridal bouquet plays quite a big role at your wedding as it is carried down the aisle, held in the photographs and sometimes placed on the head table on show.

Your bouquet style can be guided by the design of your wedding dress. A dramatic bouquet, for example, would look overpowering on a simple delicate gown whilst would compliment a more full skirted dress. Things to consider when choosing your bridal flowers are whether you are trying to achieve a modern or more of a traditional look. Is there a particular theme or colour you would like to follow i.e.: romantic, contemporary, country, exotic or vintage etc.

Once you've chosen your dress, it would be an idea to bring some pictures along to flower passion so we can make sure we are working to provide you with the perfect bouquet.

Bridesmaid's bouquets

Your bridesmaids' flowers should co-ordinate with your bouquet but also compliment the colour that you have chosen for them to wear.

Adult bridesmaids can have a smaller version of the bride's bouquet. These could have the same flowers/colours etc. or perhaps similar flowers with different colours. You have many options and we are here to guide you through these decisions. Alternatively bridesmaids can carry an individual flower, a handbag filled with flowers or a wrist corsage, beaded, plain or diamante.

For your younger bridesmaids there are various options, of course we can create a small posy to coordinate with yours and the older bridesmaids bouquets, but if your looking for something a little more unique maybe a flower wand, pomander or wrist corsage. On occasion some little ones are not keen on carrying anything, if this is so maybe we could provide them with fresh flowers for their hair.

Groom, best man and ushers.

Buttonholes help to link the theme of the bridal party together. The groom's buttonhole will ideally be created using a flower type taken from those in your bouquet, this can be a single or double bloom, wired and stem wrapped with or without foliage, diamante decoration or simply on its own.

The best man and ushers can also have a coordinated flower this is usually a single bloom also wired and stem wrapped with the option again of with or without foliage.

It's always a lovely idea to include your parents, so we will be more than happy to put together buttonholes for your fathers, and corsages for your mothers to either coordinate with the wedding theme or their chosen outfits.

Flowers for your ceremony, depending on the venue you might consider:
